Being the only hill station in Rajasthan, Mount Abu is an extremely popular tourist place. Referred to as ‘oasis of the desert’, Mount Abu enjoys a steady stream of foreign visitors. With more than 80 temples and shrines, the city holds a special spiritual significance for both Hindus and Jains. The exquisitely old Jain temples were built between 400 to 1000 years ago.
The Aravali range in which this town is located, is known as the summer capital of Rajasthan. The entire area is replete with green forests, waterfalls and lakes thus providing the much needed respite to the tourists. The town is surrounded by a 19-kilometre-long wildlife sanctuary which is known to house more than 250 species of birds.
